The Cumberland County Museum & Archives first opened its doors in 1981 at Grove Cottage (c. 1830’s)  located in the heritage home of Robert Barry Dickey, Father of Confederation. The museum is home to a collection of artifacts and resources from the generations of families who have lived in Cumberland County.

The Cumberland County Museum collects, preserves, interprets and promotes the material and documentary past of Cumberland County for the education and enjoyment of the present and future generations.


Single admission – $3.00

Family admission – $5.00

Members – FREE


January: Open by appointment only

February 1-March 31: Tuesday-Friday: 9:00a.m.-5:00p.m.

April 1-October 31: Tuesday-Friday: 9:00a.m.-5:00p.m.
Saturday: 12:00p.m.-5:00p.m.

November 1-December 18: Tuesday-Friday: 9:00a.m.-5:00p.m.

December 19, 2015 – January 4, 2016: The Museum will be closed for the Holidays but will reopen January 5, 2016 by appointment only.
