Changes in the Museum

Advertisements

This summer, we have been making changes around the museum. Our first significant change to the permanent exhibit space involved the Amherst Internment Camp. We extended this section of the exhibit to fill one full wall of space. We added a lot of pictures to allow our visitors to see the people themselves who were in the camp. We would also like to say a huge thank you to Jan, one of our amazing volunteers, who made the centrepiece above the fireplace that details the layout, building, and aerial view of the camp as well.

The other area we changed is the Four Fathers section. We changed the photographs of the four fathers, the orientation of Charles Tupper’s desk as well as the items on the desk.

Take a look at the before and after photos below and make sure to stop by sometime to see the changes in person.

Next, we are working on the display of the development of settlers here in Cumberland County! Stay tuned for updates and photos!
